They may allow one app to be 'the master's that stays one size and the other apps are split. A layout is split for each window, and not just defined for x apps. Think of it like win-numbers would open fancy-zone layouts with the apps attached to them (win-1 opens a bunch of file managers in one layout, win-2 your browser and so on, win-3 a split with two editors) * You can switch the layout, like you can do with fancy, but usually people switch virtual monitors with number combinations and rotate layouts. * Every app is automatically forced into a layout (is that an option with fancy zones?) Many are configured in programming languages. The biggest problem with Tiling is that they are so different from your stacking wm (like windows) and that configuration is so detailed. I haven't worked much with fancy zones and it all depends on the specific window manager, but tiling is a different approach to UI UWG Nick, a 21:9 Youtube channel with gameplay videos "Wide as Fcuk", Youtube channel for 21:9 info and game reviews Rule 5: No Box Pictures Related sub-reddits: Rule 4: No referral links, URL shorteners, or selling used monitors.
